Situation
PV Operations for a top 10 pharmaceutical company used multiple vendors to process and monitor Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs). The vendors were involved at different parts of the process (from intake to submission), often handing back and forth between themselves. This led to highly convoluted processes, lack of ownership and posed a higher risk to the organisation.
BIP were engaged to support the client in running an RfP to move to a single supplier model. Subsequently, BIP provided Global Programme & Change Management for the transition/transformation. 10+ workstreams developed, with a robust governance model implemented to support. BIP successfully managed and had oversight of a £4M budget and managed/mitigated all risks and issues throughout.
Result(s)
Legacy vendors offboarded and single supplier onboarded to strict timeline dictated by Chief Medical Officer. Data Privacy Assessments completed, and consideration made to specific country requirements (e.g. Japan). Following successful transition period, transformational areas were prioritised and kicked off into projects/workstreams, to further provide process improvements and operational excellence across the organisation.
